About The Stable At Bwlchbychan

Set in a courtyard with its own enclosed garden and hot tub, this stone barn conversion offers a true home-from-home for a party of four and two canine companions. A great base for a holiday that can be both busy and laid-back, it’s surrounded by countryside and within striking distance of the Ceredigion coast. Sharing its large courtyard setting with similar properties, this charming converted barn welcomes guests into an open-plan living space with all the creature comforts of home. Cook up a feast in the rustic-style kitchen, share food, drinks and conversation at the dining table then settle down in the lounge area where comfortable seating is perfectly positioned for switching on the Smart TV and catching up with your favourite programmes. When it’s time to sleep, two inviting bedrooms await on the first floor – one with a king-size bed and the other a twin room – alongside a modern shower room. Your living space extends outdoors: to the side of the property, there’s an enclosed patio where you can light up the BBQ and pizza oven and, once your stomachs are settled, lie back in the hot tub and gaze at starry skies. A shared BBQ and fire pit area offers the opportunity to make new friends, and there’s a field for the dogs to dash around in too. The West Wales coastline is stunning – head to the pretty seaside town of New Quay (15 miles) for a fabulous harbour, sandy beaches and a fine selection of restaurants, shops and cafes. A little further along is Aberaeron (17 miles), famous for its colourful Regency houses and sheltered harbour. Closer to home, the market town of Lampeter has a strong textile tradition – don’t miss the Welsh Quilt Centre when you visit. Founded by Royal Charter in 1822, St David’s College, now part of the University of Wales Trinity St David, is built around the remains of a Norman castle mound and has a quadrangle, chapel, library and main hall modelled on the Oxford and Cambridge colleges.

Emma
Really enjoyed the stay, the cottage had everything we needed!
Emma
We felt right at home here, it’s so peaceful and cosy. The hot tub and dog field were lovely extras, honestly made our stay special. The views are breathtaking, especially the night skies - we barely wanted to leave! Would definitely come back.
Emily
We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage was super cosy and had everything we needed for a self-catering break. The jacuzzi was a real treat after long days exploring. It’s quite remote though, so be prepared for a bit of a drive to get to shops - at least twenty minutes. Dogs are totally welcomeand the enclosed area was perfect for ours. Jon was a lovely host, so friendly and welcoming!
Emma
Great spot, our kids and dog loved it, definitely coming back soon!
George
We’d definitely stay here again if we’re back in the area. The fenced two-acre field was perfect for our dogs to run around safely, which was a real bonus. The hot tub was lovely and warm, though not really our thing. Being out in the countryside means you’ll need to drive for local sights and activities. The place had everything we needed-comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchenand a decent TV in the lounge. Overall, a great stay!
Emma
We had a lovely time at this cosy cottage, set in such a stunning location. The views of sunrise and sunset really are breathtaking. The dog field was perfect for our dogs to run freelyand the hot tub was spotless and so relaxing after a long day. Truly peaceful, we’d definitely recommend it for a chill getaway!
Emma
We loved this cosy cottage tucked away in a tranquil spot. It’s a real gem, way nicer than the pictures show! Plenty of room for our family and the dog, especially with that lovely field behind for walks. The nearby town is a quick drive, making it perfect for a peaceful getaway.
Lucy
The location is absolutely stunning, nestled in the countrysideand the hot tub was a real highlight! It’s really cosy and spotless, making it feel just like home. It’s about 20 minutes from the coast, but be prepared for limited shops nearby. We loved it and would definitely recommend!
Emma
The cottage was super cosy, well-equippedand the hot tub made it extra special! Loved it.
Emma
The cottage is really charming and set in such a lovely spot. The hot tub was a real treatand the appliances worked perfectly. Just a heads up, you’ll need a car to reach shops or supermarkets. Perfect for relaxing, but maybe not ideal if you’re chasing after energetic little ones!
Alex
Charming place in a quiet countryside retreat.

We had a fantastic week at the Stable! Jon greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. The cottage was stunning and had everything we needed. We loved the welcome hamper with butter, milkand bread - such a nice touch! Even though we didn’t get around to using the BBQ or pizza oven, charcoal and firelighters were there, which was handy. The hot tub was just perfect. Quiet location, super relaxing. Definitely recommend - we’ll be back!
Sam
The cottage was peacefuland the hot tub, pizza oven, plus BBQ really made it special!
Emma
We loved the peaceful vibe of this place, it’s so calm and serene, perfect for relaxing. The cottage was spotless and felt really cosy, with everything we needed. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch! It’s a bit remote, so if you’re after walking distance to shops or local amenities, this isn’t the spot. The hot tub was a big highlightand the enclosed courtyard kept things safe for our dogs, who enjoyed running in the field. All in all, a fantastic base for exploring and we’d definitely return!
Emma
We stayed here from the 21st to 28th of May and had a lovely time. The owners are genuinely friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The cottage was spotless, with everything we needed in the kitchen. The comfy sofa, large TVand king-size bed made relaxing easy. We appreciated the little touches like linen, towelsand tea towels. The hot tub was perfect after days out exploring nearby walks, beachesand the nature park. Our Sprocker loved the enclosed fieldand the ponies. The BBQ and pizza oven were a treatand the welcome pack was lovely. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Jamie

Just got back from a week at the stables and it was lovely! Our hosts went above and beyond, even putting the heating and kettle on since I got a bit lost. The gift basket was a nice touch, full of essentials and some treats. The outdoor storage with beds and bowls for the dogs was super handyand the 4-acre secure field was perfect for them to run free. The cottage itself was really cosy and well-equipped. Honestly, we had a great time and would definitely recommend it!
Emma

The hot tub was a real treatand the towels were nice and fluffy. The owner was super friendly, making us feel really welcome. Perfect spot for relaxing walks and enjoying the scenery. We’ll be back!
