Is Caban Silo Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families
While Caban Silo is primarily designed as a couple's retreat, kids might enjoy the working farm setting with horses, cats and dogs to watch. The hot tub could be fun for families, but with just one bedroom sleeping two people, it's not ideal for children. The open-tread stairs might also pose safety concerns for very young kids.
For Couples
Caban Silo is built for romance. The circular silo conversion creates an intimate space with a private balcony for sunset drinks. Soak together in the hot tub under the stars after coastal walks. The bedroom sits above the living space, creating a cosy retreat. Farm location means privacy despite being on working land. Perfect for anniversaries or weekend escapes.
Pet Friendly
Caban Silo welcomes one dog per booking (additional charges may apply). The working farm location means plenty of rural smells and interesting walks directly from your door. The enclosed outdoor space provides safety, while the nearby coastal paths offer excellent dog walking opportunities. Remember to bring wellies for muddy farm walks!

Matt
Really enjoyed the vibe here, perfect spot for usand the owners were super friendly and chill.
Emma
Beautiful place, great spot, we had a fantastic time!
Emily
We had a really lovely stay at this place. The location is spot on, just a quick 5-minute walk to the local supermarket, which was super handy. The Red Lion pub nearby served great food and drinks, perfect for relaxing evenings. The property itself is cosy and unique, with a hot tub and BBQ ready for us to enjoy. The owners are friendly and gave some helpful tips on local walks. The self-catering setup is top-notch, with a hot shower, free WiFiand a smart TV. The steep stairs to the bedroom are a bit tricky, but hey, it’s part of the charm. Overall, a very enjoyable stay - we’d definitely come back!
Emma
We recently stayed at this lovely place and honestly, it was just what we needed for a quiet getaway. The location is perfect for unwinding - super peaceful and perfect for relaxing. When we arrived, the hot tub was already heated and ready to go, which was a lovely surprise. We did have a bit of trouble finding the hairdryer initially, but a quick message to the owner sorted it out immediately; turns out someone had taken the original one, but they kindly lent us theirs, so no worries there. The welcome pack was a real treat - cakes, Welsh cakesand a little bottle of milk, which made us feel really welcomed. The bed was surprisingly comfyand there are plenty of blankets for those chilly nights - which we definitely needed! During the day, the place can get quite warm when the sun is shining, but opening the windows and doors cooled the place down quickly thanks to the fans provided. Having an oven, microwaveand a big fridge freezer was great for preparing our meals instead of eating out all the time. The nearest big supermarket, Morrisons, is about 30 minutes away in Aberystwyth, but there's a Nisa just a 5-minute walk across the horse field with a decent selection of bits and bobs. Walking into Aberaeron is about two milesand although there’s no proper sidewalk along the main A437, following the footpath and then turning through the houses gets you into town - just a steep half-mile climb, so not for the faint-hearted! New Quay is only about 10 minutes by car; it’s small but really picturesque. The owners were super friendlyand the views from the silo balcony are stunning - just the horses as neighbours. Even though it’s on a working livery farm, the tractor noise didn’t bother us at alland it wasn’t constant. All in all, a great spot for a peaceful break!
James
The place is really charmingand the owner was super welcoming. It’s tucked away nicely, offering good privacy despite being near other cottages and the farmhouse. Just a heads up, the staircase is quite steep and narrow - might be tricky for some folks.
Emma
Charming and cosy
Oliver
We had an amazing 5-day escape at the silo with our dog. The farm is so peaceful, you’d never guess it’s active-no noisy disruptions at all. The sea views and pretty scenery really make it special. The hot tub was a lovely private touch after days exploring nearby coastal towns, just 10 minutes away. The silo itself is super cosy and well-equipped, perfect for a relaxing break. Definitely recommend if you want some peace and quiet!
Emma
The silo was gorgeous, really cosyand we loved the Welsh treats as a warm welcome. Totally recommend it!
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay here! The views were stunning, especially from the hot tub. Cei beach was lovely, saw seals and dolphins. Perfect for us and the dog too. Would come back!
Emma
We loved the quirky vibe of the place! The cleanliness was top-notchand the welcome pack was such a thoughtful touch. The hot tub was fantastic, already heated when we arrived and stayed warm the whole time. Just a heads up - the stairs are pretty steep, so watch your step. Overall, a lovely stay!
Emily
We really enjoyed our stay at this quirky little silo. The views are absolutely stunningand the jacuzzi was a lovely bonus. The owners were super helpful when we had trouble with it. Loved watching the dogs running around the farm-so friendly! Only a tiny leak in the kitchen during rain, but overall, we’d definitely recommend it. Just watch those steep internal steps if you've got small dogs!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay at the farm. The little touches like wine and cakes made us feel very welcomed and relaxed. Getting there was a bit tricky at first-we took a side track to the left that led nowhere, so I had to get out and wander around to find the silo. The place was mostly spotless, though we did notice some fluff and nuts in the sofa cushions. The kitchen was brilliantly equipped, which made cooking easy. One thing to note is a cable running down the outside of the silo that banged against it during the night, which woke us up. Despite that, it’s clear this place was built with a lot of loveand we totally fell for it too. Leaving was a bit sad, honestly!
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay! The place had all we needed, super comfy bedand the hot tub was a lovely bonus after exploring the coastal path nearby. Would definitely come back!
Emma
Even though it’s right near the farm, the place felt super private, so we weren’t bothered at all. The silo had everything we needed, was surprisingly spacious for a small spaceand the fans kept us cool in the heat. Loved the sea viewand that hot tub was just the perfect treat for relaxing. We had a great stay!

Emma
Honestly, this place is a real hidden treasure! The location is perfect for exploring nearby spots. The silo itself is surprisingly cosy, warmand fully stocked - all you need to bring is your clothes and some food. Even though it’s on a working farm, it’s super peaceful and quiet, making it a great little escape. They’ve thought of everything, really! We loved it!
