Sightseeing
Burry Port packs loads of sights into a small area. The harbour itself is worth exploring with its two lighthouses and marina. I love watching the boats come in while grabbing an ice cream from one of the local shops.
Pembrey Country Park (SA16 0EJ, open daily 7:30am-9pm summer, 8am-5pm winter) is a must-visit. It's got Cefn Sidan beach - an 8-mile stretch of sand that's won Blue Flag status. The park scores 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor with visitors praising its clean beaches and woodland trails.
History fans should head to Kidwelly Castle (SA17 5BQ, open daily 10am-4pm). This Norman fortress is one of the best-preserved in Wales and scores 4/5 on TripAdvisor. We recommend taking the wall walk for amazing views across the countryside.
The Dylan Thomas Boathouse (SA43 3DY) is a 40-minute drive but worth it. The famous poet lived here for the last four years of his life and it's now a museum scoring 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor.

Dogs will love a Burry Port holiday as much as you will! Many of the hot tub cottages welcome pets, but always check specific property details before booking.
Pembrey Country Park is brilliant for dogs with woodland trails and dedicated dog exercise areas. Parts of Cefn Sidan beach have seasonal restrictions, but there's always somewhere for your dog to run.
The Millennium Coastal Path is perfect for dog walks. It's flat, well-maintained and offers great views. We've walked it many times and always spot other happy dogs along the way.
For food, The Cornish Arms (SA16 0BG) welcomes dogs in their bar area and serves good pub grub. Burns Pet Nutrition (SA16 0SU) is based nearby if you need emergency pet supplies.
