Closer to home, the market town of Lampeter has a strong textile tradition – don’t miss the Welsh Quilt Centre when you visit. Founded by Royal Charter in 1822, St David’s College, now part of the University of Wales Trinity St David, is built around the remains of a Norman castle mound and has a quadrangle, chapel, library and main hall modelled on the Oxford and Cambridge colleges.
